What Is This?

If you have a Zerodha account, you already have access to a huge amount of information about your portfolio. The problem is that most people never actually analyze it.

Kite MCP allows AI tools to access your portfolio, holdings, positions, orders and market data. Instead of manually checking everything, you can ask questions in plain English.

Examples:

• Which stock is contributing most to my gains?
• Am I overexposed to one sector?
• What changed in my portfolio today?
• Which positions carry the most risk?
• What should I pay attention to this week?

This guide shows you how to get started.

Before You Start

You need:

• A Zerodha account
• Kite MCP installed
• Any AI tool that supports MCP

Examples:

• Claude Desktop
• Cursor

• Windsurf
• Other MCP-compatible clients

What Kite MCP Can Access

Depending on permissions and configuration:

Setup

Step 1

Install Kite MCP. Follow the installation instructions provided in the Kite MCP repository.

Step 2

Authenticate with your Zerodha account. Confirm the connection works.

A quick test: "Show my current holdings."

If data appears, you are connected.

Step 3

Start asking questions.

You do not need complicated prompts. Use plain English.

Analyze My Portfolio

Analyze my current portfolio. Show:

Keep explanations simple and beginner friendly.
